SK AeroSafety Group’s US Operations Expand Capabilities and Enhance Customer Service

We’re proud to share a series of impressive developments across our US Central Region operations. Our teams in Dallas, Houston, and Indianapolis have been making significant strides in expanding technical capabilities, enhancing facilities, and improving customer service – all while fostering professional growth among our team members.

Dallas Facility Enhances Capabilities and Employee Experience

Our Dallas operation has made remarkable progress on multiple fronts, balancing facility improvements with technical capability expansion. We’ve relocated our hydro test shop to make room for an expanded employee breakroom, demonstrating our commitment to creating a better workplace environment for our valued team members.

On the technical side, we’ve successfully completed two DER (Designated Engineering Representative) repairs for FedEx on A300 slide P/N 7A1300-XXX, showcasing our advanced repair capabilities. To enhance customer communication, we’ve added a dedicated customer service representative focused on proactive customer outreach regarding asset statuses.

The Dallas team has significantly expanded their technical capabilities, adding expertise in critical safety components including:

  • Titanium fire bottles
  • Multiple oxygen mask assembly types (P/N 174692-N7)
  • Various oxygen assembly series (P/N 176176-Series and 176411-Series)
  • Several oxygen stowage box models
  • Evacuation slides (P/N 7A1510-Series)
  • Diverse fire bottle types and pressure vessels

We’re especially proud of our team’s professional development achievements, with one technician earning his A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) certification and another earning his A (Airframe) certification. We’ve also optimised our intercompany transfer process by relocating responsibility to Dallas from Houston, improving operational efficiency across our network.

Houston Facility Expands Welding and Component Capabilities

Our Houston operation has made significant technical advancements, adding welding capability with a specialised technician in the bottle shop. The team has also expanded their component repair capabilities to include:

  • Multiple oxygen pressure regulator models
  • Various fire extinguisher types, including O-Ring bottle extinguishers

We’re particularly excited that our ULD (Unit Load Device) shop is now ready to accept its first United ULD, anticipated in May 2025. Following Dallas’s lead, Houston has also added a dedicated customer service representative focused on proactive outreach regarding asset statuses, reinforcing our commitment to superior customer service.

Indianapolis Facility Upgrades and Expansion

Our Indianapolis facility has seen substantial growth with the addition of E170/175 slide capability, including a complete shop floor reorganisation to accommodate this new service. The team has also added bottle welding capability, expanding their technical service offerings.

We’ve signed a new facility lease agreement that includes $70,000 in facility improvements, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining state-of-the-art repair facilities across our network.

Group-Wide Initiatives Enhance Quality and Performance

Across all our US Central Region operations, we’ve implemented several strategic initiatives to enhance service quality and operational performance:

  • We’ve partnered with an external engineering firm to formulate DER-approved repairs, expanding our ability to provide innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • Implementation of a final inspection process ensures quality of workmanship and documentation accuracy across all operations.
  • We’ve developed and implemented daily, weekly, and monthly production goals to improve steady revenue gains and ensure we meet our revenue targets.

Looking Ahead

We’re on the verge of several exciting developments in the coming months:

  • We’re close to adding 737 and A320 slides to our capability list, further expanding our service offerings for two of the most common aircraft types in operation.
  • Our team is actively engaged in RFQ processes with both Virgin Australia and Qantas, pursuing opportunities to expand our international client base.
  • We’re nearly ready to unveil our new slide shop, representing a significant enhancement to our repair capabilities.

As a people-first business, we’re also preparing to celebrate several team members who are marking significant anniversaries with SK AeroSafety Group. We plan to hold these celebrations in conjunction with the opening of our new slide shop, recognising both our technical advancements and the dedicated professionals who make them possible.
